Virtual Sessions via Videoconference & Phone

We offer our clients the option of doing virtual sessions as opposed to traditional in-person sessions, whenever this service is desired. Many people find that virtual sessions are more convenient, minimizing travel time, making psychotherapy and coaching more accessible. We are happy to offer virtual sessions via videoconferencing or phone for any of the services that we offer.

Are virtual sessions as effective as in-person sessions?

Much research has been conducted in recent years on the efficacy of virtual modes of psychotherapy delivery. The data seems to suggest that virtual therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy for most issues. In case you would like to read more, here is a link to a recent article put out by the American Psychological Association about the research that’s been done on the effectiveness of virtual therapy: “How Well is TelePsychology Working?“.

How do virtual sessions work?

We are happy to offer virtual sessions via videoconferencing or phone. You can feel free to let us know which medium you would prefer to use. If you would prefer to speak via videoconferencing, we will send you a link to download and connect via “VSee”, which is a videoconferencing app intended for medical communications. VSee is a platform that complies with the security standards/regulations contained in the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You can read more about the security of VSee by clicking here. Once you have downloaded this app, you will need to set up a profile, which will take 1-2 minutes. Then, as long as you are logged in at our session time, we will be able to give you a video call. If you would prefer to speak via phone, you can feel free to let us know the best number to reach you at and we will give you a call at your scheduled session time.

Can I switch between virtual and in-person sessions?

You are welcome to do exclusively virtual sessions, or to switch back-and-forth between virtual and in-person sessions, as needed/desired.
