Meet Dr. Juhyun Park
Dr. Juhyun Park is an Assistant Professor (Tenure Stream) in the Department of Psychology and the Graduate Department of Psychological Clinical Science at the University of Toronto Scarborough. She received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo (SUNY Buffalo) in 2021. She completed her undergraduate and Master's degrees in Psychology at Seoul National University (SNU) in South Korea, and previously worked as a postdoctoral fellow at McGill University.
Dr. Park is deeply committed to understanding cognitive and emotional processes that contribute to depression and anxiety. She uses both her research and broader scientific knowledge to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care for individuals experiencing emotional distress. With over 10 years of clinical experience, she offers therapy and psychological assessments to adults. She is licensed to practice in South Korea and is currently completing supervised practice in Ontario under the supervision of Dr. Shona Tritt and Dr. Zindel Segal.
Her areas of focus include depression, anxiety, emotion dysregulation, stress, and trauma. Dr. Park's therapeutic approach is integrative and client-centered, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Thearpy (DBT). She is also familiar with trauma-focused treatments such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).
Dr. Park has worked with adults across a wide range of psychological concerns in diverse settings throughout North America and South Korea, including the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (pre-doctoral internship), Erie County Medical Center, SUNY Buffalo Psychological Services Center, Samsung Medical Center, and various student support centers at SNU.
