Couples Counselling

We provide psychotherapy to couples looking to meet relationship goals such as to build intimacy, improve communication skills, repair breaches in trust, and to navigate areas of incompatibility and life transition.

What is couples counselling?

Couples counselling is a form of psychotherapy in which a therapist treats the dynamic between two individuals, striving to achieve the mutually agreed upon goals of the couple. Couples counselling may help individuals to gain insight into their relationship dynamics, and to generally improve trust, communication, and relationship satisfaction.

What’s the process like?

Prior to commencing couples counselling, we will do a 3-session assessment: the first session will be hosted with both members of the couple present, followed by 2 shorter sessions with each member of the couple individually. From this assessment, a treatment plan will be developed. Couples counselling can be short-term, lasting only a few sessions, or long-term, lasting for months or years, depending on one’s goals and their complexities.

Sessions are typically 50-minutes in length.
