Meet Dr. Joshua Doidge

Dr. Joshua Doidge is a Clinical Psychologist dedicated to delivering thoughtful, evidence-based care to individuals across the lifespan. With over nine years of clinical experience, he provides therapy and psychological assessments to children, adolescents, adults, and families, and is currently completing supervision in couples therapy and assessment.

Dr. Doidge’s areas of focus include anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, trauma, learning disorders, and eating disorders. His therapeutic approach is integrative and client-centered, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and play therapy for children. He also offers executive coaching for individuals seeking personal or professional growth.

He has trained and practiced in a wide range of clinical settings, including the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), Framework Therapy and Assessment Centre, the ADD Centre, the Biofeedback Institute of Toronto, and the York University Psychology Clinic. He completed his pre-doctoral residency at Avalon Hills Eating Disorder Specialists in Utah, a residential facility known for its multidisciplinary treatment of complex eating disorders. Dr. Doidge is licensed to practice in both Ontario and the state of Utah, and has additional training in neurofeedback and other brain-based therapeutic approaches.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Doidge is actively engaged in psychological research. His academic work explores executive functioning and decision-making in individuals with ADHD, as well as the impact of technology on youth development. He has authored multiple scholarly publications, including a co-authored chapter in ADHD in Adolescents: Development, Assessment, and Treatment (Guilford Press) and a peer-reviewed article in the Journal of Attention Disorders.

Dr. Doidge earned his Ph.D. and Master’s degree in Clinical Developmental Psychology from York University, where he completed dual competency training in both child and adult psychology. During his graduate studies, he was recognized for academic and leadership excellence, receiving the Clinical Developmental Area Leadership Award and serving as a LaMarsh Leadership Representative. He also served as a mentor in York’s Asperger’s Mentorship Program (AMP), reflecting his longstanding commitment to inclusive, supportive care. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, where he was a Dean’s List scholar and recipient of multiple academic scholarships.

Known for his calm presence, collaborative spirit, and clear communication, Dr. Doidge creates a welcoming and respectful environment where clients feel safe, supported, and empowered in their care.
